The mission of the Nebraska Firefighters Foundation is to preserve Nebraska’s firefighting heritage, to foster public understanding of the impact and benefit of firefighting in regard to saving lives and possessions, to educate individuals about fire prevention and fire safety, and to memorialize Nebraska firefighters.

To accomplish this mission, the Foundation has developed the Nebraska Firefighters Museum & Education Center and the Nebraska Firefighters Memorial Garden.

The vision of the Nebraska Firefighters Museum & Education Center is to share & to celebrate the history of firefighting in Nebraska, while interactively educating visitors about fire prevention & fire safety.

To accomplish this mission, the Museum features professionally designed exhibits that showcase many of the fire departments across the state through apparatus, artifacts, photographs & text panels. A number of hands-on displays are available to engage the young and the ‘young-at-heart’ about the importance of practicing fire prevention 365 days a year. Activities, programs & events are held throughout the year which invite visitors to come & learn more about specific aspects of Nebraska’s fire & rescue services, as well as about fire safety preparedness.

The vision of the Nebraska Firefighters & EMS Memorial is to tangibly memorialize & to permanently honor Nebraska’s firefighters and EMS personnel of the past, the present & the future.

To accomplish this mission, the names of Nebraska’s line of duty deaths are engraved into the LODD Memorial & Nebraska’s past & present firefighter’s & emergency medical responders’ name engravings are sponsored as a tribute to their service.
