Fire & EMS Tributes

The Nebraska Firefighters & EMS Memorial is proud to honor those who have served & who are currently serving as firefighters & emergency medical providers in Nebraska. In order to accomplish this, families, friends & departments are invited to sponsor name engravings as tributes to individuals which will ensure that they are remembered & honored for generations to come.

Lining the perimeter of the Nebraska Firefighters & EMS Memorial, stand red brick bases topped with black granite caps which feature the sponsored names of many of Nebraska’s past & present firefighters & EMTs. Name engraving tributes may be purchased in order to honor individual members of any Nebraska fire department or affiliated rescue organization. These engravings include the individual’s name, department & first–last years of service.

As we believe current members of Nebraska fire & rescue departments should receive recognition for their service prior to their passing, the Nebraska Firefighters & EMS Memorial is designed such that should an individual be a current member of a fire and/or rescue department, only his or her first year of service will be initially engraved. After the individual retires or “expires,” the last year of service will be added to the engraving upon submission of notification to the Museum office.

One Response to Fire & EMS Tributes

  • Joshua says:

Firefighter is one of the professions that I respect and admire the most. Unlike any other job, they need to risk their life in order to save another life. So it is not a job that everyone can do. I am eighteen years old this year and I plan to be one. I am healthy and I am planning to take the firefighter test soon. I try to do some research online and that’s how I got to your post. I really enjoy reading your post and you seem to have experience about the job. What can you suggest me to read before I take the test and joining the Firefighter Camp? Thanks for sharing and I will thank you if I go through the test later.
